A few months ago I started seeing some posts on Facebook. “Vote for Park City as Best Town Ever!” Outside magazine was pushing this campaign. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I couldn’t bring myself to vote. My job depends on tourists to come here, to spend their money, to hire ME to take them around and provide an adventure experience. I know this but I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t will myself to let the cat out of the bag. Uhm, yeah, too late. It was called the 2002 Olympics and it’s what brought me to town 12 years ago. Anyhow, even though I didn’t vote, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride that I choose the ‘Best town Ever’ to land. I never imagined I would still be here. After all, “one winter” was a long time ago! It’s a likely story actually. I have again realized that sometimes the plans we have laid out for ourselves are not the path we need to be on. I am such an example of this. Thank God for a higher power that can see a bigger picture! Originally, I chose Park City but ultimately I think Park City chose me. Park City drew me in with her amazing trail system, her incredible beauty, her wonderful community, her independent spirit, her opportunities to grow and her beautiful group of people she has provided me with, who push me on a daily basis. I am truly blessed. I HOPE you have had the opportunity to explore our town. If you haven’t yet been here, I invite you to come and visit us. If you allow Park City to speak to you, you will not leave the same person as you came. Come and see us and you will understand what I’m talking about!
