I remember it vividly. I was in first grade. I was laying on my bed, hanging upside down off the edge (of course), when I saw it. I was staring out the window and I saw it! I immediately sat upright, looked again, could my eyes be deceiving me??? No WAY!!! So I ran downstairs as fast as I could and busted into the room where my older sister and brother were sitting.
“You guys! You guys! The clouds are MOVING!” I shrieked.
They looked at each other and then looked at me. “Duh Alisha,” they scowled.
Wait, they KNEW this and never told me?? What the heck?
I don’t know if it was actually then, at that moment that I realized how important the small things are. So many times the big picture clouds us, deters us, discourages us, disappoints us, overwhelms us and so many countless other things. When that happens I really try to be conscious, to stop, to look around and look for the little miracles in life. Some of these things, miracles, blessings, forces of nature (whatever you want to call it) are easy to overlook. When you decided to SEE them though, your life will take a wonderful turn and your perspective becomes that much clearer. I am so thankful for the small things in life that make me stop and smile. It happens quite frequently if you are in tune to it. It’s pretty amazing! Park City is special for that reason (among countless others). There are so many opportunities to see beauty. Whether you are hiking, running, biking, skiing, doing a yoga session outside or just laying on your bed staring out the window, they are EVERYWHERE!
